Screws with Washers

Screws with Washers is the assembled-screw series: pan head cross screws with captive gaskets, double shim SEMS screws with two stainless washers, knurled thumb screws and micro brass screws with hex standoffs. The common idea is that the washer is fitted in our workshop, not yours, so the assembly line picks one part instead of two and no washer is ever dropped on the floor. The pan head cross screw with gasket is used in TV sets, furniture and other housings; the captive gasket distributes the clamping load, protects the plastic surface and gives the screw a finished look. The double shim screw carries two stainless steel washers on the shank and can be supplied with an anti-loosening glue coating, which greatly increases fastening security under vibration - a standard requirement in automotive interiors, power tools and appliances. Knurled thumb screws are tightened by hand for panels that are opened for service, and the micro brass screws with hex standoffs serve PCB mounting and electronic assemblies where non-magnetic, conductive, corrosion-free material matters. All parts are cold headed and thread rolled from stainless steel, carbon steel or brass, and finished with zinc, nickel, black zinc, color zinc or blue zinc plating. RoHS, SGS and DIN requirements are met, and the factory works under an ISO9000 system, with salt-spray, hardness and torque tests recorded per batch. Sizes, washer combinations, head heights and drive types are produced to drawing, and first-article samples are provided before every mass-production run. Choosing the washer combination is a design decision, not an afterthought. A flat washer spreads load on soft plastics; adding a spring washer adds vibration resistance; a serrated washer bites into painted surfaces where appearance is secondary; an EPDM gasket seals against water, which is why it is used on outdoor enclosures and lamp fittings. Tell us the base material, the joint thickness and whether the joint will be opened for service, and we will propose the combination and quote the assembled screw price. Because the washer is assembled in-line, cost is lower than buying screws and washers separately and assembling them by hand, and quality is more stable since the washer is centered automatically. Assembly torque should be specified when ordering - we verify stripping torque and washer crush on real samples so the joint survives the driver line.
