Special Custom Screws is where our tooling room earns its keep: screws that do not exist in a catalog, produced according to the design drawings or samples you provide. The photos show the typical range - half-thread screws for racket and sports equipment, captive ring screws that stay attached to a camera bracket or wearable device, half-claw head screws, hollow through-hole screws that carry a wire or an air passage, meson screws paired with nylon anchor sleeves, and mixed custom models covering micro screws, pins and special heads. Each of these parts starts from your drawing or a physical sample. We confirm material and coating with you - stainless steel, carbon steel or brass; zinc, nickel, black oxide or colored plating - then cut the tooling, run first articles and send them for assembly testing before mass production. Because the parts are usually designed together with a housing, small details matter: the unthreaded pilot section of a half-thread screw aligns the parts and raises shear strength; the retaining ring on a captive screw must keep concentricity with the thread so it rotates without wobble; the inner hole of a through-hole screw must stay round and centered along its whole length. Our cold heading and CNC turning lines hold these tolerances, and every new tooling is verified with a first-article inspection report. Typical applications are sporting goods, wrist-worn cameras and smart devices, optical instruments, small electronic enclosures, furniture and wall fixings. Minimum sizes go down to about M1 [TBC] for micro parts, trial batches from a few thousand pieces are accepted, and samples are free once the drawing is confirmed. You send a PDF or CAD drawing, or a physical sample; our engineers review manufacturability, propose the production route and quote within a few working days; on approval we cut tooling, produce first articles with a full-dimension report, and after your sign-off the same tooling runs mass production. Drawing changes after tooling are handled by documented revision so the shop floor always works to the latest version. For micro parts below M2 we recommend brass or stainless for machining stability; for high-strength joints we recommend alloy steel with heat treatment and a plain or black finish [TBC]. Surface coating choice follows the housing: color zinc to match painted enclosures, nickel for visible parts, black oxide inside mechanisms. Throughout the project one engineer stays as your contact, so questions about tolerance, torque or packing are answered by the person who saw the drawing, not by a sales agent.
